Carlos Redman-The Summer Knows
For my city...
The Summer Knows comes from the film "Summer of 42'". The song is supposed to be a romantic one, but driving through the city today I got a little sentimental, while arranging this work I felt the need to rewrite how I felt into it.

Life Is Good

I was just thinking about the lil' things that make life so sweet! Today I'm preparing some arrangements for my band New Generation. I called up a few cats whose music I dig, and decided on the members I want in the group. Hopefully, I can keep them around long enough to create the sound that I envision. These guys are in demand players, so they are hard to keep up with. So far I asked Desean Jones, Jon Dixon, Damon Warmack, and Nate Winn, all of whom are fire ass players. I am so looking foward to the summer rehearsals...

Beautiful Morning
It was the sweetness of November I recall. We stood as progenitors on the thrown of history as the winds of autarchy kissed our ebony faces. Oh what a beauty freedom is. Something. Something willing under the tingle of my skin gives me the power to hold the sistrum of hope in one hand and the sekhem of audacity in the other. Today I muster the courage to sing "I AM A MAN!"
